Since 2010, Personal Chef Victoria Cortes has been offering Washington DC area professionals the luxury of nutritious and delicious food prepared just to their liking, in their own kitchen. Victoria and her team take care of all the hassle involved with preparing weekly meals: they plan the grocery list, do the grocery shopping, package and label the food, do the dishes, and clean the kitchen.

Victoria customizes each client’s menu based on his or her personal preferences and accommodates many special diets like gluten elimination, anti-inflammatory, the autoimmune protocol (AIP), Paleo diet, ketogenic diet, The Whole30, The 21-Day Sugar Detox, Specific Carbohydrate diet, and Nourishing Traditions.

Food as Medicine
Victoria is convinced of the healing power of food and her delicious and nutritious preparations have proved helpful in reducing inflammation in the body and fighting many ailments, like cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, and Lyme disease. When it comes to healthy food, Victoria does not believe in shortcuts- she prepares slow-simmered bone broths and adjusts standard recipes in order to incorporate more wholesome ingredients.

Boutique Catering

In addition to giving Washingtonians the luxury of nutritious prepared food at home, Victoria executes fabulous catered events. While she specializes in intimate dinners for 2 to 6 guests, plated dinners for up to 12 guests and stationery hors d’oeuvres and buffet dinners for up to 25 guests, Victoria and her team also cater small weddings.

After graduating cum laude from a liberal arts college (click here) in Pennsylvania, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies and French, Victoria worked in documentary film at the National Geographic Channel in Washington, D.C.

Inspired by the amazing food she experienced during the year she studied in France, Victoria decided to pursue a degree in the culinary arts. Since graduating with honors from the Professional Culinary Arts Program at L’Academie de Cuisine in Gaithersburg, Maryland, Victoria has honed her skills in all kinds of kitchen operations- from fine dining, catering, and prepared foods, to the set of the television cooking show, Emeril Green (featuring Chef Emeril Lagasse).

Victoria is a Certified Food Safety Manager with the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals and Victoria Cortes Personal Chef Service is licensed, bonded, and insured.
